Kolonie 2
Terms of service
Version of 20 October 2026. These terms apply to Kolonie 2 in each of its editions: the crypto edition at mars.kolonie.app, its test world at beta.mars.kolonie.app, and any other edition of Kolonie 2 that links to this page. Where a section applies to one edition only, it says so.
The short version (the full text below is what counts):
- Kolonie 2 is a game set on Mars. Everything in it, including the Plutarch Corporation, is fiction.
- You must be 16 or older to play, and 18 or older for anything to do with BTCX.
- Credits and items are part of the game. They are not money and can’t be cashed out.
- Anything bought with BTCX is final: no refunds.
- Anything bought in euros (card and other methods) can be refunded within 14 days.
- Play fair: no bots, no cheats, no farming rewards with extra accounts.

1. Who we are
Kolonie 2 is offered by the sole proprietor named, with postal address and email address, in our Impressum (“we”, “us”). You reach us at that email address; it is also the address for everything these terms ask you to send us.
2. What Kolonie 2 is
- Kolonie 2 is a persistent browser game on real Mars: the world keeps running in real time, also while you are away. You found a company, lease land, keep colonists alive, trade and explore.
- It is fiction. The Plutarch Corporation, Elon City, the Earthline, every person, company, announcement and event in the game are made up. The terrain is built from public NASA, USGS and other scientific data, credited in the game. Kolonie 2 is not affiliated with NASA, ESA, USGS or any space company.
- Playing is free. Some editions offer optional purchases (section 6).
- Before launch. You can create an account before the world opens. We plan to open it on 15 January 2027; the page shows the date. If the date has to move, we say so there. Until it opens, your account waits on the waiting room page and you can’t play yet.
- The test world (beta.mars.kolonie.app) is for invited testers. Time runs faster there, it can be reset or wiped at any time, and nothing from it carries over to the real world.
3. Your account
- Age. You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. If you are under 18, you may only make purchases with the consent of a parent or guardian. The BTCX features are for adults only (section 4).
- One person. An account belongs to one natural person. Don’t share, sell, lend or trade accounts. You may hold more than one account, but rewards that are given per person (shares of the supply drop, votes, the airdrop) count once per person: accounts that we can reasonably tell belong to the same person or household share one.
- Your details. Give a working email address that is yours, and keep it current: we use it to confirm your account and to reset your password. If you sign in with Google or Apple, their terms apply to that login.
- Keep your login safe. You are responsible for what happens with your login. Tell us right away if you think someone else uses it. We never ask for your password.
- Founder names. Other players see your founder name. Don’t use names that insult, harass, discriminate, impersonate a real person or our staff, infringe someone’s rights or advertise. We may change a name that breaks this rule.
- You can delete your account at any time on your account page.
4. BTCX features (crypto edition)
In the crypto edition you can link a BTCX address (a pocx1q… address of the BTCX network) to your
account, and later pay with BTCX where we offer it.
- Who may use them. You must be 18 or older, and using them must be legal where you live. They are not available to persons or places under sanctions of the EU, the UN or Germany.
- Your address, your wallet. You are responsible for linking an address that you control and that is correct. We never hold coins for you and never see your keys. BTCX transactions are public on the BTCX network and can’t be reversed: coins sent to an address you linked are yours and can’t be called back, also if the address was wrong.
- The quarterly airdrop is a voluntary promotional gift from us to active players. Its rules are shown in the game (for example: a minimum number of active days in the quarter, the address linked at least 30 days before payday, one payout per person or household). It is not a wage, not a payment for playing, not a prize in a game of chance and not an investment. There is no legal claim to it. We may change, pause or end it for future quarters at any time; a quarter that has ended keeps the rules it had. We may withhold a payout where these terms are broken (section 9).
- No financial service. BTCX is a crypto asset with no guaranteed value; its price can fall to zero. We are not a bank, an exchange or a financial adviser, and nothing in Kolonie 2 is financial or investment advice.
- Taxes on what you receive are yours to handle, under the law of your country.
5. Credits and in-game items
- Credits are the game’s currency. Credits, goods, buildings, colonists, items and everything else in the game are part of the game: you get a personal, non-transferable right to use them in Kolonie 2 under these terms, not ownership.
- Credits are not money and not electronic money. They can’t be paid out, exchanged for money, BTCX or anything outside the game, or moved to other players, except where the game itself offers it.
- We develop the game: prices, rates, buildings and rules can change to keep the world fair and fun. We don’t take away what you bought on a whim; section 10 says how resets work.
6. Purchases
This section applies where an edition offers purchases (for example Credit bundles or a speed-up, the “nanobot crew”). In the test world, any checkout is a test: nothing is charged.
6.1 How a purchase works
- The checkout shows what you buy, its total price including VAT, and how you pay. The contract is made when you complete the checkout (for BTCX: when your payment is confirmed on the BTCX network).
- What you buy is delivered to your account right away. To keep the world fair, purchases bring at most a set amount of Credits per game day; anything above it arrives over the following days. The checkout says so when it applies.
- Payments in euros are handled by the payment provider named at checkout. Payments in BTCX go to the address and amount shown at checkout, which are valid for the time shown there.
- We confirm every purchase by email.
6.2 Purchases with BTCX are final
Anything you buy with BTCX is final and is not refunded, neither in BTCX nor in any other way. BTCX payments can’t be reversed, and what you buy is delivered immediately. Before you pay, the checkout asks you to agree that delivery begins at once and to confirm that you know you lose your right of withdrawal when it does (section 7). A payment that doesn’t match an open checkout (a wrong amount, too late, a wrong address) is looked at by us case by case; we can’t reverse it on the network.
6.3 Purchases in euros: refundable for 14 days
You can get your money back for any purchase paid in euros within 14 days of buying it, without giving a reason. Write to us (section 1) with your founder name and the purchase. We refund the full price through the payment method you used, within 14 days of your message, free of charge. What you received from that purchase is taken out of your account; if you have already spent it, your balance can go below zero, and later earnings or purchases settle it first. This promise is given in addition to your statutory rights and doesn’t limit them.
6.4 Chargebacks and resets
- If a payment is reversed by your bank or card provider (a chargeback) without a valid reason, we take back what it bought, as in 6.3, and may pause the account until it is settled.
- If we reset a world (section 10), Credits you bought and had not spent yet are credited to you again in the new world. They are not paid out.
7. Your statutory right of withdrawal
If you are a consumer, you have the following statutory right of withdrawal for purchases.
Right of withdrawal
You have the right to withdraw from this contract within 14 days without giving any reason. The withdrawal period will expire after 14 days from the day of the conclusion of the contract.
To exercise the right of withdrawal, you must inform us (name, postal address and email address as given in our Impressum) of your decision to withdraw from this contract by an unequivocal statement (e.g. a letter sent by post or an email). You may use the model withdrawal form below, but it is not obligatory. To meet the withdrawal deadline, it is sufficient for you to send your communication concerning your exercise of the right of withdrawal before the withdrawal period has expired.
Effects of withdrawal
If you withdraw from this contract, we shall reimburse to you all payments received from you without undue delay and in any event not later than 14 days from the day on which we are informed about your decision to withdraw from this contract. We will carry out such reimbursement using the same means of payment as you used for the initial transaction, unless you have expressly agreed otherwise; in any event, you will not incur any fees as a result of such reimbursement.
Early expiry
For a contract for the supply of digital content which is not supplied on a tangible medium, your right of withdrawal expires early when we have begun to perform the contract after you have expressly consented to us beginning the performance before the end of the withdrawal period, you have acknowledged that you thereby lose your right of withdrawal, and we have sent you a confirmation of the contract (§ 356(5) of the German Civil Code, BGB). For purchases with BTCX the checkout asks for this consent; for purchases in euros, our refund promise in section 6.3 applies in any case.

8. Rules of play
Kolonie 2 is a shared world. Don’t:
- use bots, scripts, macros or other automation to play, or any tool that gives an unfair advantage;
- exploit bugs: if you find one, tell us; that is welcome and won’t be held against you;
- use several accounts, other people’s accounts or ways around our limits to get more shares of the supply drop, more votes or more airdrop payouts than one person is meant to get;
- buy, sell or trade accounts, Credits or items for real money or anything outside the game;
- harass, threaten or insult other players, or post content that is illegal, hateful, sexual or that infringes someone’s rights;
- pretend to be us, our staff or the Plutarch Corporation’s staff in a way that misleads anyone;
- attack, overload, probe or disrupt our servers, or read data out of the game beyond normal play.
9. What happens when rules are broken
Depending on how serious it is, we may warn you, undo what was gained by breaking the rules, withhold rewards or payouts gained that way, pause the account, or end the contract (section 11). We choose the mildest step that is enough, take your side into account and tell you why; you can object by writing to us.
10. Availability, changes and resets
- We work to keep Kolonie 2 running around the clock but can’t promise it never stops: maintenance, updates and faults happen. Planned maintenance is announced in the game where we can.
- We keep developing the game. Features can be added, changed or removed, as long as what you paid for keeps its value in a fair way.
- World resets. We may reset a world, for example to fix the economy or start a new era. In the real world we announce a reset in the game at least 14 days ahead. Your account, logins and BTCX link stay; the world, and your company in it, start anew. Credits you bought and hadn’t spent are credited again (section 6.4). Only an emergency (for example a security problem or lost data) can shorten the notice; we then explain why. The test world can be reset at any time.
11. Ending the contract
- You can end the contract at any time by deleting your account on your account page, or by writing to us.
- We can end it with 30 days’ notice, or at once for an important reason, in particular a serious or repeated breach of these terms.
- If we end Kolonie 2 as a whole, we announce it at least 30 days ahead and stop all sales when we announce it.
- What happens to your data when the contract ends is described in the privacy policy.
12. Liability
- We are liable without limit for intent and gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, under the Product Liability Act, and where we have given a guarantee.
- For slight negligence we are liable only for breaches of essential contractual obligations (obligations whose fulfilment makes proper performance of the contract possible at all and on whose observance you may regularly rely), and then only for the foreseeable damage typical of the contract.
- Beyond this, our liability is excluded. These limits also apply to our helpers.
- Your statutory rights for defects in digital products are not affected.
13. Changes to these terms
We may change these terms for the future when there is a good reason, for example new features, a change in the law or a court ruling. We tell you about a change at least 30 days before it applies and ask you to accept the new version. If you don’t accept it, you can delete your account before then; changes to what you have already paid for need your consent.
14. Law, disputes and the rest
- German law applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. If you are a consumer, the mandatory consumer protection of the country where you live stays with you.
- We are neither obliged nor willing to take part in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board.
- If a provision of these terms is invalid, the rest stays valid.
- These terms are written in English, the language of the contract. Our privacy policy says how we handle your data.
